Low-Level Laser Therapy
Gentle light-based therapy used to support comfort and recovery.
What is it?
Low-level laser therapy (also called photobiomodulation) applies specific wavelengths of light to a targeted area. The light energy is absorbed by cells in the tissue, where it is thought to support cellular energy production and the body's natural recovery processes.
It's gentle, non-invasive and doesn't heat or damage tissue.
Why might it be recommended?
It may be included when supporting local comfort and recovery is a goal of care — for example with irritated joints or soft tissue, after strains, or when an area is too sensitive for more intense hands-on work.
By helping calm a sensitive area, laser can make it easier for the nervous system to accept movement and loading again.
What does treatment feel like?
Painless and, at most, mildly warm. Sessions are typically short and relaxed — many people find them calming.
Its role in the Psalm 30:2 approach
A supportive, low-demand option within a broader plan. Laser is often used early in care when an area is sensitive, or alongside other treatments to support comfort while we address the underlying pattern in the chain.
Who might be appropriate for it?
Considered individually depending on your presentation. It's often a good fit for people who prefer gentle care, for sensitive or acutely irritated areas, and for active adults supporting recovery.
What should you expect?
A comfortable application over the area with protective eyewear and no downtime. It's usually combined with other care in the same visit, and a short series of sessions may be recommended depending on your goals.
Reasonable limitations & considerations
Expectations are set individually; it is one part of a bigger picture rather than a stand-alone fix. It isn't used over the eyes, over the abdomen during pregnancy, or over certain areas of concern, and we'll screen for relevant considerations before beginning.
How it integrates with other care
Pairs easily with hands-on care, myofascial release and progressive loading. Laser can support comfort; adjustments, soft-tissue care and rehab change how the area moves and is controlled.
